About Seaford, Delaware
Located on the beautiful Nanticoke River,
Seaford is currently one of the largest towns in Southern Delaware with a population around 7,000 people. Our mild climate consists of humid summers and mild winters plus it's just about a half-hour from the beach. The town was incorporated after the US Civil War and has constantly been a hub of activity on the Delmarva Peninsula. Seaford is best known for it's DuPont nylon manufacturing plant which has employed hundreds of people since the 1940s.
Seaford was voted the 28th Best Small Town in America! The town participates in both the state and national "Main Street" programs to revitalize older commercial districts and preserve historic downtown areas. Seaford's main street called High Street, recently underwent major renovations including a million dollars of landscaping, paving, sidewalks, lamp posts, and utility upgrades.
Seaford is an active community with several active social and civic organizations to participate in! With more than 500 retail stores and service-related businesses, a stable and
respected local government, a diversity of residential developments, a
modern hospital and numerous support clinics, elderly care,
fine schools and
